O.J. in the news again...

Well, I've been giving some thought as to what to post as a topic as there have been many great topics already covered. The current news seem to be focusing on O.J. Simpson and his bout with the law again, and it compelled me to thinking about justice and how justice is served (or not served) in this case and in this country. O.J. was found not guilty of murdering his wife and her acquaintance some 13 years ago. Although he had his day in court, there are many who have expressed that he was guilty of the crime. So was justice served? There were many pieces of evidence introduced that would point to his guilt: a size 12 Italian shoe (like the ones he had in his possession) that caused bloody footprints, a cut on his hand, a bloody glove, his blood mixed in with the two victims at the scene, etc. Yet, the jury found him not guilty. Perhaps the prosecution didn't do a great job of presenting the evidence. Some time after this, he was found guilty in a civil suit brought against him for several million dollars by the family of one of the victims. If he was found guilty in this trial, how could he not be found guilty of the crime of murder? It seems as if perhaps he was found not guilty due to his celebrity status. Now there's an interesting thought! Now he's back in the news: this time for armed robbery in a Las Vegas casino. There are not only witnesses that are planning to testify, there is an audio recording of him yelling obscenities and forcing the victims to stay put during the crime. Perhaps the Smiths and the Goldmans will finally have some justice. Maybe not for murder, but if found guilty, he stands to serve 35 years in prison. Or perhaps he'll yet again be able to buy his way out with high powered attorneys. Anyway, there is a saying: once a criminal, always a criminal. What do you think?

I to will agree that O.J. was guilty of those murders. As a matter of fact we as the public knows that he was guilty. We also know excatly what got him out of it, unfotunately his money. It goes to show that the judicial system is easily bought. It makes me sick to know that there are people locked up today for stupid reasons and there are people out there commiting real crimes and walking for it. Hopefully this go round he will be found guilty. Hey, they always say what goes around comes around. Let's just hope for the victims family he will get the maximum sentence so they can at least feel like some justice was served.

It was only a matter of time. He was guilty the first time and he is guilty this time. I believe that things will be taken care of this time because things have a way of coming back around. It is finally gonna get him and he is gonna hate it. But it is his time and about time!

If the saying "what goes around comes around" is true ... OJ will be getting his in the form of 35 years in prison for his latest crime. (Which will only be an inkling of justice for brutally murdering Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman) But atleast it would be some punishment.

He has been mocking the families of his victims thinking "I got away with it" through that smug smile he always has on his face. He hasn't paid compensatory damages nor has he paid punative damages. It is sickening that he literally got away with murder...

I dont know whether or not O.J. was guilty in those murders. But it doesnt make sense to me that he was found not guilty in the murder trial but was found guilty in the civil suit. If he was found guilty in the murder trial then he shoulda been found the same in the civil suit. The Goldmans have already taken over the rights to whatever amount of money his lst book makes, which is totally unfair for someone that was found not guilty. As far as the recent crime goes, if someone stole belongings of mine like O.J. suggests, I too would try to recover these items in an angry mood. I see nothing wrong with him trying to get his things back. If he used a gun then he was wrong for that. But otherwise he should be left alone. We all have our opinions on whether or not we think O.J. is guilty, but as long as hes found not guilty in court he shoudnt be treated like a criminal.

Laura B,

This is a great topic, while serious, yet still funny. I believe that when people are angry wheather this is justice or injustice, you can do anything. My mother always say never say never. I don't know if OJ is guilty or not. Weather he got off because of money or not. But I know this. THat God sees all and the person that does a crime knows and eventually things have a way of playing out. YOu might get off in one way but you will pay in another.

I agee with you also. If he was found not guilty then I dont believe that the families should have recieved any money..And yes if someone stole something from me I would want it back.

I would also be angry if my personal belongings were stolen...I would NOT steal them back in a violent nature.(Like he is accused of doing)
Two wrongs don't make a right.

I don't know what to think about the OJ drama. I do feel that if you are found not guilty in a court of law, people should not continue to say that someone is a criminal.

I think this memorobilia guy is shady.. But that doesn't excuse what happened. And O.J. was only up in arms about it because the stuff was worth a lot of money and he doesn't want a penny to go to the Goldman family. He still owes them millions of dollars based on the verdict of the civil suit where he was deemed guilty of the murders. So I don't feel bad for him at all. I think he's been walking around freely for a long time and he deserves to have to pay in some way. If this is what brings it about then so be it. And that book he's come out with? That's horrifying. What kind of person would do that? I hope he's brought to some kind of justice.

I think that O.J. is the lowest of the low. He not only got away with murder, but was not even grateful for it. He has no soul, and no conscience. I mean, he even went as far as mocking the families that were hurt by his actions by writing a book about it. "If I did it" is so disrespectful, there are no words. Yes, he got caught doing something wrong now. And yup, he might get a more intense punishment because of his past, but like they say, you will be punished, one way or another :) The crime may not fit the punishment but it definitely will fit the person

Well what can I say about poor O.J.? The man seriously needs to behind bars? He is a threat to himself and others. I never really understood the previous O.J. case where he was charged with murder because I was only 7 and my mother would not let me watch. However, him coming out with the book this year and the whole incident this week proves that the man is not capable of living as a normal citizen with some sense.

You know what I think that even if he isn't totally guilty of this robbery they should still throw the book at him. I mean he deserves it. He repluses me. How could you write a book detailing how you would have killed the mother of your children. He is an awful man! He is a example of how the justice system doesn't always work.

O.J. Simpson really confuses me. How can he plea not guilty to committing a vicious crime, but write a book about how he might have, or would have, done it? That only proves that he has a criminal mindset. I send my regards to the families of those murdered, but, if you lost the case, then you lost the case. That’s how life is sometimes. I don’t think they should get money now. That kind of puts forth that they were after the money the whole time. After he wrote that book I tried not to pay attention to him, then, here he is in the news committing a robbery. I just don’t know about that guy anymore.

I think that is not necessarily true once a criminal always a criminal, but in O.J.'s case it's true. he should have been in jail a long time ago, but you know the saying what goes around comes around.

I really feel its a set up, weather or not he commited the murder, i belive this is payback from someone about it. Its all too simple how everything played out with witnessses and if its not an advertising scheme then it really seems like he is being set up to me.
