What Happened to good movies, in-depth movies(no matter the genre)?
What Happened to individuals that care about family, that took time out for family and cared and loved for each other?
What Happened to great writers like Emerson and Thoreau, that had meaning in their words?;
What Happened to respectful people, that use words like please, thank you and excuse me?
What Happened to individuals that listen more, and talked less?
What Happened to people that want to serve and help, that put themselves last and others first?;
What Happened to sports and athletes that you could trust, that played their games with honesty?
What Happened to great speakers, like Martin Luther King, Jr. and JFK, that when they talked you could feel the passion, seriousness, and sincerity in their voices?;
What Happened to Innocence(as you look around the world)?;
What Happened to politicians trying to be for the people(the citizens), before presidential elections becomes a topic?
What Happened to the unity and together-ness that was here the days and weeks following Sept.11th(why does it take tragedy and death to unify us)?
What Happened to you being able to let your little son or daughter, or sibling play around the neighborhood with out the worry of predators and etc.?
and Again Lastly, I ask, What Happened to Respect?
In a world where rudeness is the norm and acts of kindness often make people more suspicious than grateful. In a world where you can rarely find people that are actually willing to engage in good solid thinking, where there is almost a quest for easy answers and half baked truths; nothing pains some people more, than to just think. In a world where if you don't watch the news your uninformed, but if you do watch the news your often misinformed. In a world that seems to consistently be on a moral and ethical decline. Have you ever took a step back, from school, work, and etc. and examined these things. And Ask yourself 'What Happened to it all?...Where'd it all Go?
Thoughts!?

I think about this ALL THE TIME! There is a country song called "A different world" that talks about how things have changed. It seemed like things were so simple when I was a kid. Now as a mother I have to worry about school shootings, predators living in my community...lead in toys! It is crazy. What happened is a great question.
I can't let my little sister out side with out being worried. We live next to a busy road and there is so much going on that no one would notice if anything happened. All of my neighbors are secluded and I miss the days when you could go outside and not care about anything except having fun. I wish we all could trust more but I think that our trust has been violated so many times that we just do not want to be hurt anymore. We almost expect people to fail us.
The question is not what happened. The question is why are we letting it happen? Living is America is great compared to other countries. However, we have allowed crazy things to go on. For example, it is illegel to disscuss anything about God via raido or in public, but it's ok to brag about getting shot, selling drugs, and sleeping around. Whites, Blacks, whoever they are all allowed to do it. The great atletes, and poets are still out there, but that just is not cool anymore.
This thought runs through my mind all of the time. I am about to go into the field of being a high school math teacher. Although I don't want anything to do with economics, I want to be able to some how show them that investing for tomorrow is better than spending for today.
What's sad is that the great experiences we had as kids, our children will never experience. You can't trust your neighbors and I frankly don't trust the police. In my eyes, everyone is a suspect. My children won't experience the fun of being out until dark, because in today's world it's just dangerous being outside.
